NYSC Updates Corps Members (CMs) and Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) on Resumption Date

The management of the National Youth Service Corps has released an update for the resumption of Corps Members and Prospective Corps Members, that as soon as the management receives a go ahead from the presidential task force (PTF) and NCDC the Scheme will return back to full operation.

In a report from the management of the NYSC Scheme through it social media handle which is as follows

ATTENTION CORPS MEMBERS (CMs) AND PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS (PCMs)
 
“The Federal Government, through the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) deeply appreciates the efforts of Corps Members towards combating the spread of COVID-19 in the country, through various interventions, such as production of face masks, hand sanitisers, liquid soaps, soap – water – and – hand sanitiser – dispensers, donated to government institutions as well as communities in the country.
 
The disposition of Corps Members is an eloquent demonstration of commitment to selfless service to the fatherland.
The Scheme notes and commends the spirit of patriotism as shown by Corps Members and Prospective Corps Members in their burning quest to contribute meaningfully in building a united, virile and prosperous Nation, but restrained by the lockdown occasioned by Coronavirus.
 
Management wishes to assure CMs and PCMs that the Corps has been interfacing with the relevant agencies of Government such as PTF and NCDC, with a view to restoring normalcy in the operations of the Scheme.
In this connection therefore, as soon as greenlight is given by Federal Government, full operations will resume.
Meanwhile, CMs and PCMs are advised to exercise patience and restraint as they observe COVID-19 protocols of social/physical distancing, proper washing of hands with soap for at least twenty seconds, use of alcohol- based hand sanitiser and wearing of face mask.
