END OF SERVICE YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL TO THE 2019 BATCH ‘B’ STREAM TWO CORPS MEMBERS

The Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim DSS PhD MTRCN, Management and staff of the Scheme felicitate with the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream Two Corps Members on the successful completion of service today.

Undoubtedly, the period of service has exposed you to the ideals of nation – building — predicated on selfless service, national unity and integration which are the hallmark of the National Youth Service Corps.

The DG also lauded the efforts of the passing out corps members towards national development which the various Community Development Service projects that you executed, as well as your active and timely response in combating the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic through the provision of face masks, hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, pedal-operated dispensers, palliatives, disinfectant chambers among others are all worthy of commendation.
Management equally appreciates all the Corps medical personnel that enlisted to be counted as frontline soldiers in the fight against the pandemic. May God bless you all.

My dear children, I am happy to say without equivocation that you have been good ambassadors of the Scheme, and I feel very proud to associate with you. May I hastily admonish that you are on the threshold of launching into another phase of life, which brings forth another level of self discovery and personal development.

Therefore, I charge you to put to profitable use, the skills that you acquired under the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme in the course of service, in order to become job and wealth creators, instead of searching for scarcely available white collar jobs.

As you disengage from national service, let us not forget your fallen colleagues who could not brace the line with you today. May God in His infinite love and mercy grant their souls eternal repose.
The DG also pleaded with the passing out corps members to  always, uphold the spirit of patriotism, efficiency, dedication, selfless service, loyalty and humility which the NYSC Scheme has impacted in you during the service, and the necessity for building a new Nigeria.

Avoid cutting corners and get – rich – quick mania that yield unpleasant results and draw the country backwards, rather embrace discipline, diligence, resilience and hard work which are precursors to success.
It is our fervent prayer for you to succeed in your chosen future endeavours, to the benefit of the Nation and humanity.

Congratulations my dear patriots. May God bless you abundantly.
Spread the love
